Rougelikes

This is the look of a more traditional rougelike, challenging, punishing and fun.

We love the genre all the same, and whether you’re playing the original Rogue title that spawned the genre, or digging into a little Spelunky before it sends you back to Mario or the PartyPoker site, tears in your eyes, the desire for a reasonable difficulty level strong within you, it’s arguably made us all value the “lives” concept in videogames.

Back to being ugly, Max's new incarnation is older and even more distressed.

It’s strange to think that it is now eleven years since I first played Max Payne. There was something special about the Remedy developed title, a noir story met an irreverent sense of humour that could only be achieved from an outsiders’ perspective (in this case Finnish).
