The DoFuss Show – We Don’t Care About Your Left 4 Dead Stories!

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

There is a blight, that dogs both I and Darren. We can take it no longer, this offence to auditory senses. But what is this festering pox covered beast which haunts our iPhones? Left 4 Dead stories. Yes, this show we talk about gaming podcasts. What we like, what we don’t like and why we are happy to pander to your every desire to keep you listening to us.

Talking of keeping people listening this week also sees the announcement of the Street Fighter art book winner, as well as the usual news, game discussion and music. Comments, reviews and good vibes welcome at the usual places.

The DoFuss Podcast – Reaching for the Stars

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Busy week. The combination of gaming, birthday parties and work left both I and Darren tired, unfocused and recording later than usual. There was a plan for the podcast formed at some point during the week but in honesty only about half of that plan could be salvaged from my sleep deprived consciousness.

Fortunately Darren did manage to line up an interview (mentioned last week). To accompany this we also have some clips from the upcoming DoFussUS podcast with Jad and Chad.

Most of the regular segments are still in too. There’s a lot of what we’ve been playing and the usual news. The main topic (such as it is) focuses on game age rating and their effectiveness as guidance for parents. Unfortunately we were a little short of time today so no Darrens Old Games, so if you were looking forward to the Robocop 3 retrospective you are all out of luck till next time.

I hope you enjoy it and as always feel free to comment, leave feedback or write an iTunes review.

The DoFuss Podcast – NintenDon King

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

It is a big one, pushing the hour and six minute GarageBand gives us to its limits. We have a few new jingles, but do not be scared (or at least try not to be; the ‘What Have You Been Playing?’ jingle takes a bit of getting used to).

First I must apologise, we are sellouts. I hate to admit it but we have to pay the bills somehow. This week expect a smattering of adverts through out the show. Please don’t feel compelled to run out and buy any of the featured products, but try to understand the necessity of their existence in the show.

This time around Darren has played more relevant games than I, so it is a mobile gaming-heavy start to the show. As ever we discuss news, including the upcoming Yakuza 3’s cast list. Following this I have a little rant about localisation of games, from Japan to the West (and vice versa). All before finishing up with Darren’s old games, this week featuring Hunter for the Amiga and Atari ST.

The DoFuss Podcast – Architect Errol Fitzroy’s Black Plague First Person Morris Dancing Extreme

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

On time and ready to go. In an attempt not to walk in the footsteps of giants we decided to abandon the original discussion of reviews and scores at the last minute and instead focus on the recent Japanese top selling games and Final Fantasy 13 news as seen in Famitsu. I say ‘seen in Famitsu’ because I can’t read most of it so it’s more an impressions piece than a factual commentary.

As always we also discuss some recent news and dip into ‘Darren’s Old Games’. This podcast Darren reminisces about hours spent floating around lost in Elite on the Amiga, and I reminisce about watching him floating around lost in Elite.

We also invent the Wii game name generator, so if you come up with one please post it in the comments. The format is simple;
Job > Name > Event > Game genre > Event > Generic game word
The results sound worryingly like next years best selling game as long as you attach ‘for Wii’ and ‘by Nintendo’ to the box art. Enjoy.
