<itunes:summary>Yes, its late, and we missed February completely, but with most of the regular cast having birthdays last month we can be forgiven right? Well maybe not, but we are back again now with added titillating missile silos. I say lsquo;wersquo; are back, but really it is me with a brand new cohort in the form of Scoot, a font of gaming knowledge and a welcome partner in podcasting crime.

So here is the twenty-fourth DoFuss Show, and if you can bear with a couple of small technical issues on Scootrsquo;s end you will be treated to an hour an forty minutes of gaming news and discussion. Focusing our attention on online competitive play and games retail for the most part, we also dip in to some Nintendo conference talk and other news.

I suppose we are reaching a point where I may have to concede that a lsquo;regularrsquo; schedule might never be possible, but I promise to keep trying and may hopefully even manage to get a three-man show going one day. Until I hope you keep listening to, and enjoying, our sporadic content.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>I have to listen to every show through again while I edit. Because of this I have started to notice a very different tone (and length) depending on my cohort for the episode. My conclusion is that I am failing in my roll as a host. Not that this is necessarily bad, but next time (whoever is with me) I am wrestling back some control and giving this show some consistence.

Maybe.

This episode underwent a number of late changes. Our special guest (Blokey from the UUDD forums) was unfortunately unable to make it at the last moment, so will be joining us next time. Darren was also unavailable so it fell to Dan to pick up the mantel of the second spot.

[caption id="attachment_2023" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="DAMN YOU BLOKEY!"][/caption]

We touch on numerous topics as summary of which can be seen here courtesy of Dan's impeccable planning. It was fortunate his outline was so thorough too, otherwise there wouldnrsquo;t have been a show because the plan was to revolve everything around forums and Blokeyhellip; YOU HEAR THAT BLOKEY.

Ahemhellip; I am sure he will be able make it next time along with Darren, so keep an eye on the site for that. Enjoy the show.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Darren is back just in time for a semi-festive show. We spend most of our time catching up on the last few months events and our respective holiday breaks but in the process we do touch on lots of games in-between our stories.

As I said last show do not expect Dans wonderfully detailed show notes every week, and this week serves only to reaffirm that declaration. I can tell you that you can expect us to talk about all the games we played recently, Red Dwarf, bad commercials, me pissing myself, me being taunted by hordes of nerds, the upcoming 2010 releases and our vacations. Unfortunately even with Darren back there is no Frakkers this show, but we do have some music and the return of Darrens Old Games.

Hopefully 2010 will mark a more regular schedule for The DoFuss Show as we stream line the formula, but we make no promises. Enjoy the show and keep an eye on the site this month for some gaming memories of the last ten years.

We have some very detailed show notes courtesy of Grandmaster Dan (do not get too used to these as I feel a revolution coming on against his despot government).

Hopefully the coup will be successful and Darren will be back for a 'normal' show in time for Christmas. In the meantime keep your self entertained with this hour and a half of edited highlights. Enjoy.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Darren is missing again this show, but frankly I canrsquo;t wait for him any longer so Dan has kindly stepped in to cover.

It has been sometime since the last show, thanks to everyonersquo;s hectic jobs and Darrenrsquo;s trip to Japan we have been either too busy or to drunk to put out anything for nearly a month. We do have a video (kind of) in the works that should go up on the site soon, and the show should be getting back to its normal format and schedule soon.

Until then please enjoy Dan and I discussing some of the bigger news and releases of the last month as well as some prolonged discussion about just what lsquo;grindingrsquo; is. We also talk about Disney's Ultimate Band a Wii game for wanking to, literally (see the image). Top this off with the proverbial cherry, better known as Darrenrsquo;s Old Games and you have yourself a show.

Enjoy.

<itunes:summary>I know it is late, with all of the Tokyo Game Show write-ups, reviews and articles that I had to get posted things have been hectic. But it is here now and stuffed to bursting point with previews, discussion and interviews from the show!

To give you that nice cozy and familiar feeling we kick off with just me and Darren for our usual banter but then Darren is out and we switch over to Daniel Feit, another writer and resident of Japan who also attended TGS. Dan and I get down in to it for almost two hours talking about the games of on show and our experiences there. Just be happy we at least break it up for with an interview with The Behemoth (kicking off around the 1h 49m mark), creators of Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers and the upcoming Game 3.

Have a listen and please leave feedback in the comments or on iTunes. Also remember to keep an eye on DoFuss over the next three weeks for some extra audio/visual stuff in the next few weeks as Darren hits Japan.

<itunes:summary>Okay, I have finally taken over the reigns of editing, which is why the latest podcast is a tad late. Think I have it all down though, so herersquo;s hoping you wonrsquo;t notice much of a difference.

During the course of this show we manage to talk about institutionalizationhellip; and drugshellip; and sandwiches, all without diverging from the usual format of news and features. Frakesy, Darrenrsquo;s old games and the song challenge are back as always and are joined this week by discussion of game prices.

A few extra notes. Every time I say Acclaim I mean Activision. It is a mistake I used to make when I was thirteen, I do not know why its rematerializing now. Also there is no such thing as morphium, thing my brain created a lovely mix of morphine and opium.

I really want a sandwich.

Enjoy the show.

<itunes:summary>Welcome to the latest DoFuss Show. Often I have been seen apologising for issues with the show. Whether it be the length, the sound quality or the fact I was drunk or tired. NOT THIS TIME because this is our best podcast yet!

It is the usual line-up, with lots of iPhone games discussion to start us off before moving on to China Town Wars (DS) and InFamous (PS3). After that we are straight into the news hitting on recent mergers, acquisitions, pricing and of course some Michael Jackson. Then the icing on the cake, this weekrsquo;s feature Dark Presence. Find it, love it, support it and pester them to give The DoFuss Show an exclusive interview. Finally we wrap it all up with Darrenrsquo;s Old Games and a very special ninja guest Mr Musashi.

Next podcast will be marking the first birthday of DoFuss.net, so be sure to tune in and leave questions for our special guest Jonathan Frakes (a.k.a. Frakkers) in the comments for this episode at DoFuss or UUDDLRLRBA. If you get a minute review us on iTunes and enjoy the show.

(The title will be explained I promise).</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>More information on Home Improvement for the Super Nintendo (from Wikipedia)...

The player guides Tim "The Toolman" Taylor in a quest to find some Binford power tools that have gone missing from the set of Tool Time. The game is broken down into 4 worlds of 4 levels, each world containing a boss level.

It is also worth noting that the game had no manual; its splash screen explained, ldquo;Real men donrsquo;t need instructions.rdquo;

Ultimately, the game has received quite negative reviews despite the show's popularity. This is most likely because of the strange aspect of Tim Taylor trying to recover tools while fighting dinosaurs, mummies, and robots and lack of an instruction manual. The game failed to sell in large numbers and it is hard to find today.

<itunes:summary>We are late, but contrary to my usual apologetic fashion there will be no lsquo;sorryrsquo; (apart from for my musical interlude). It is packed front to back with gaming fun and discussion.

This episode is longer that usually to accommodate Darrenrsquo;s recent interview with the legendary Jon Hare of Sensible Software fame. It kicks off at the fifty three minute mark (just in case you want to jump straight to the Sensible Soccer discussion).

Apart from that we quickly hit up what we have been playing before diving into news and predictions for E3. Unfortunately as this has ended up being posted after all the press conferences so you will instantly know if we were on the money or not, all I will say is that we were kind of close, sort of. We wrap up with the return of Darrenrsquo;s old games, and talk of the amazing Turrican.

Hope you enjoy, and we may even manage two more shows this month to make up for the light May.</itunes:summary>

Fallout 3 - New Vegas, Bioshock 2, Assassins Creed 2 and Dantes Inferno are all games we do not talk about. Instead we focus our attention on Final Fantasy XIII, Wii Motion Plus and a plethora of other juicy topics that sprung to mind. All this before we have a little chat about the direction of the handheld market, and why if iPhones are the future you should just wait and buy one when you get there.

Of course we also have some news on the Street Fighter 4 art book competition, but it may not be what you wanted. Enjoy and remember to leave comments at dofuss.net or on iTunes. Bye!</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Lots of Wii this week. It dominated mine and Darrens gaming time. From Madworld to Bit Trip Beat and on to the Virtual Console (for Darren) it has been by far the most my Wii has been used for over a year.

News also has a heavy Nintendo focus. There is the upcoming Silent Hill re-imagining for Wii, Nintendo putting the kibosh on Tecmo bringing Fatal Frame 3 to the West and wanting to invigorate the Japanese gaming market (assumedly with Wii Music 2) its been a high profile week for the big N. We also have a quick chat about up coming game based movies. All of this is followed by a talk about downloadable content in games with a little help from the boards at uuddlrlrba.co.uk and Darrens old games which this week focuses on Segas fantastic Shinobi series.

Somewhere in all this there is also a competition to win the Street Fighter 20th anniversary art book, hot of the presses straight from Japan (pictured here). Over 300 pages of beautiful Street Fighter promotional and concept art all up for grabs. To be in with a chance of winning simply listen and mail the required information to either me (Alex ndash; alex@dofuss.net) or Darren (darren@dofuss.net).

As always feel free to review us on iTune or to comment on dofuss.net or at uuddlrlrba.

<itunes:summary>Like my art home work back at high school just getting this one in just in time. After the last rather light podcast we have hit back with a content packed but somewhat undirected episode. So a full month of gaming and news fill the majority of the show.

Darren takes on the iPhone discussion, yet some how manages to keep it retro with Pole Position and Wonder Boy. I try to keep things more current we head back to Resident Evil 5 and rub on a little Madworld. Then we avoid talking about the Watchmen.

News is sprinkled through out. We touch on a number of topics that have been affecting gaming in the UK recently. Then we bitch about Nintendo. Because they deserve it sometimes. We wrap up with the usual Darrenrsquo;s old games with is a breathless summation of the wonderful Sensible Software.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>#HUGE SPOILER for Resident Evil 5 this week, do not listen between 19:36 and 21:18 if you do not want me to ruin the game for you (you have been warned)!#

This one is going up a bit late thanks to a busy few weeks of work, games and site updates. It is a good one though, even if it is a little shorter than usual.

I take a trip to the UK to meet up with Darren and take DoFuss on the road for an early preview of Code Frogs upcoming title NintenDon King for Wii. On the way we get a chance chat. Darren finally gets around to revisiting Robocop 3 on the Amiga. I however get to tackle something a bit more contemporary with Resident Evil 5 and try to work out my conflicting emotions about it.

Expect the next podcast in just under two weeks as we struggle to meet our bi-monthly schedule. Remember if you like what you here leave a message on the site or feedback on iTunes.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Busy week. The combination of gaming, birthday parties and work left both I and Darren tired, unfocused and recording later than usual. There was a plan for the podcast formed at some point during the week but in honesty only about half of that plan could be salvaged from my sleep deprived consciousness.

Fortunately Darren did manage to line up an interview (mentioned last week). To accompany this we also have some clips from the upcoming DoFussUS podcast with Jad and Chad.

Most of the regular segments are still in too. Therersquo;s a lot of what wersquo;ve been playing and the usual news. The main topic (such as it is) focuses on game age rating and their effectiveness as guidance for parents. Unfortunately we were a little short of time today so no Darrens Old Games, so if you were looking forward to the Robocop 3 retrospective you are all out of luck till next time.

I hope you enjoy it and as always feel free to comment, leave feedback or write an iTunes review.

First I must apologise, we are sellouts. I hate to admit it but we have to pay the bills somehow. This week expect a smattering of adverts through out the show. Please donrsquo;t feel compelled to run out and buy any of the featured products, but try to understand the necessity of their existence in the show.

This time around Darren has played more relevant games than I, so it is a mobile gaming-heavy start to the show. As ever we discuss news, including the upcoming Yakuza 3rsquo;s cast list. Following this I have a little rant about localisation of games, from Japan to the West (and vice versa). All before finishing up with Darrenrsquo;s old games, this week featuring Hunter for the Amiga and Atari ST.

<itunes:summary>On time and ready to go. In an attempt not to walk in the footsteps of giants we decided to abandon the original discussion of reviews and scores at the last minute and instead focus on the recent Japanese top selling games and Final Fantasy 13 news as seen in Famitsu. I say lsquo;seen in Famitsursquo; because I canrsquo;t read most of it so it's more an impressions piece than a factual commentary.

As always we also discuss some recent news and dip into lsquo;Darrenrsquo;s Old Gamesrsquo;. This podcast Darren reminisces about hours spent floating around lost in Elite on the Amiga, and I reminisce about watching him floating around lost in Elite.

We also invent the Wii game name generator, so if you come up with one please post it in the comments. The format is simple;
Job Name Event Game genre Event Generic game word
The results sound worryingly like next years best selling game as long as you attach lsquo;for Wiirsquo; and lsquo;by Nintendorsquo; to the box art. Enjoy.

<itunes:summary>A melancholy grips us today with the news last week that Ziff Davis Media sold its games division to UGO. The take over saw the close of EGM one of Americarsquo;s biggest gaming magazines and the loss of more than 60% of their staff. Most of these staff are already producing new content at various sites (some links on the right) and we wish them and 1up all the best.

But itrsquo;s 2009 and new starts abound. Darren is now in possession of a Wii so he is now able to contribute to discussions. In spite of this Darren still insisted on starting his lsquo;Old Gamesrsquo; section of the show (Darren doesnrsquo;t like the word retro). This week hersquo;s remembering Bullfrogrsquo;s Syndicate. We also have the obligatory game of 2008 discussion and a quick chat about our hopes for 2009.

Itrsquo;s a bit long this week but at least itrsquo;s on time. Enjoy. (Enter the give-away!)</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The podcast is back, better than ever and if I do this right, available on iTunes.

Thanks to a broken computer the dates are all wrong on the show, but thanks to Darren we have great new intro music. We talk about some new games we have been playing and discuss what console Darren should be buying, while I rub his nose in the fact soon I will have all three. Industry news including the effect of the recession on the industry, the release of NXE for Xbox Live and why Live in Japan sucks.

Hope you enjoy the show, subscribe on iTunes and please leave a comment because it makes Darren excited.</itunes:summary>
