Hungover was in jest. Really I am just worried about having more than two people until I can work out a better recording method. My Skype recorder groups all outside calls as a single channel, leaving everyone who isn’t me together. Editing is already a hassle without that. We shall see what we can find for a bigger group podcast soon.

I was hoping I could talk Darren and Scoot in to getting together and Garageband at their end, then we could have 3 channel sound. Then there’s Blokey…

I resent the implication that I was the hungover one when you admit you woke up at 5PM. Anytime you’re up for recording, I am too!

I wouldn’t have dismissed the team sports idea as silly Scoot. I would have said however without the physical benefits I probably wouldn’t be willing to wake up at 6am everyday to do it, as I would have to if I wanted to talk to other English speakers.

Much of my issue with online play comes from my situation, as I said, if I was in the UK and everyday when I got my 360 (or whatever) many of my friends were playing and we could have a rumble in a team match I am sure my tune would change pretty quick.

Death match is another matter. Don’t think I will sway on that one. Never did like single sculling, give me and 8 or a 4 any day.

So I have cast a pod for the first time and learned 2 important lessons.

1) Don’t record podcasts on Ipod Earphones and Rock Band Mic.

2) Stay calm or you’ll forget to say the cool things you wanted to say.

You see I had planned to compare multiplayer FPS gaming to team sports. I was going to put to Alex the thought that he would have dismissed it as silly if someone suggested instead of going down to the river every day at 5AM to practice rowing (which he has been known to do) he should do a different sport every day. He appreciates the joy of working day in day out as a team to get the best performance you can. This is the experience team FPS players are enjoying and it’s separate for them from their wider gaming.

Thank goodness for comments eh!
