The DoFuss Show – “Real men don’t need instructions.”

June 20th, 2009 Posted by Alex Beech

More information on Home Improvement for the Super Nintendo (from Wikipedia)…

The player guides Tim “The Toolman” Taylor in a quest to find some Binford power tools that have gone missing from the set of Tool Time. The game is broken down into 4 worlds of 4 levels, each world containing a boss level.

It is also worth noting that the game had no manual; its splash screen explained, “Real men don’t need instructions.”

Ultimately, the game has received quite negative reviews despite the show’s popularity. This is most likely because of the strange aspect of Tim Taylor trying to recover tools while fighting dinosaurs, mummies, and robots and lack of an instruction manual. The game failed to sell in large numbers and it is hard to find today.

(We also talk about E3).

You categorized this write-up as “lazy” but I’m calling it “brilliant.” Won’t hear the show until Monday, probably, but I’ll let you know what I think.

The Michael Douglas/Andy Garcia cop movie in Osaka is called Black Rain. Hard Rain was a mediocre action flick set in a town that is flooding with Christian Slater and Morgan Freeman.

That’s just silly, who would flood a city with Christian Slater and Morgan Freeman? If there was more than one of either of tham then the universe would implode under it’s own awesomeness.

Man, Frakkers made me laugh so hard that I think I ruptured something. You need him back on more. The line “Chuuby chubby chubster” had me choking. Awesome stuff.

    Also, yeah, Heavy Rain.

Any plans for getting ALL the show’s jingles put on your radio thing? I love the 3 already there, but I need moar….

I feel so bad for Mr. Frakes. Has Paramount stopped sending him royalty checks? Why has he resorted to special-effect-laden pornographic films???

Considering you has such stern words for podcasters who share too many Left 4 Dead stories, I’m surprised you didn’t touch on the stunning reveal of Left 4 Dead 2 in this program. I was stunned and a bit disappointed by the announcement, personally.
