The DoFuss Show – Heavy Wii
Lots of Wii this week. It dominated mine and Darrens gaming time. From Madworld to Bit Trip Beat and on to the Virtual Console (for Darren) it has been by far the most my Wii has been used for over a year.
News also has a heavy Nintendo focus. There is the upcoming Silent Hill re-imagining for Wii, Nintendo putting the kibosh on Tecmo bringing Fatal Frame 3 to the West and wanting to invigorate the Japanese gaming market (assumedly with Wii Music 2) its been a high profile week for the big N. We also have a quick chat about up coming game based movies. All of this is followed by a talk about downloadable content in games with a little help from the boards at uuddlrlrba.co.uk and Darrens old games which this week focuses on Segas fantastic Shinobi series.
Somewhere in all this there is also a competition to win the Street Fighter 20th anniversary art book, hot of the presses straight from Japan (pictured here). Over 300 pages of beautiful Street Fighter promotional and concept art all up for grabs. I’m at work now, and I’m MEANT to be on the phones, but I’m listening to this, so I’ll be noting things down in order….
LMFAO @ the Sensible Software interview. Haven’t laughed like that on a bus since that time the old lady fell over when the driver slammed on the brakes and she peed everywhere.

* SFIV, LBP, Burnout – stuff that does not change the game itself and isn’t forced on you. Customer choice. Good.
* Fallout 3, GTAIV, UTIII – extra stuff that changes and extends the life of the game that is made after the game has shipped. Customer choice. Good. In the case of UTIII, it was free, so awesome.
* RE5, Tomb Raider – stuff that should have been standard and was just cut to save time, then released later to make a quick buck. Piss poor.
Shinobi didn’t have a dog. That was Shadow Dancer. Spiderman was in Revenge Of Shinobi (I think). Ah, great days…. Oh, Shadow Dancer gets mentioned. K, point retracted. Home versions were completely changed, which sucked. Ho crap – Pitfighter?!?! Where’s my facepalm smiley?

I wasn’t reading it. Honest! its just still burned into the back of my eyelids from my Contra days (but I guess that could count as reading). Thats why I keep dropping back in to Up Up Down Down, not UUDD.

Shinobi stuff is all Daz, I was a SNES kinda guy. I just liked Shadow Dancer in the arcade.

The music was indeed fantastic, particularly the boss theme. And don’t forget the wobbly sound effect when you use the high-jumping magic. Wubble-ubble-ubble!

I reckon we should get Darren on board too. The Nintendo section is grossly underused and could do with his kind of enthusiasm in there. Dude’s an old schooler like myself (30 years old and still have my rubber keyed Speccy) so he’d fit in like a fist in Cartman’s mum.
I’ve never been likened to a fist before… Where do I sign?
