Online play is the real reason to buy this. Play is balanced and one-on-one fighters are perfect for competitive online gaming. Creating and dropping into games is easy and there’s very little lag. Pings below two hundred and fifty suffer little or no noticeable problems (for me at least, but I’m not frame counting) and even when problems are encountered the rollback system corrects them.

When I say the rollback corrects problems, I should say that it’s a reasonable solution to an unavoidable problem. It works by recording both players inputs and if any significant lag is encountered it mashes both inputs together to see what would have happened. This is a fair solution but not perfect, as it turns fights into a turn-based strategy affairs. Don’t let this deter you though; problems are relatively infrequent.

Oh, when you play online be ready to get your arse handed to you.
