Dead Space (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) » The Mining Ship Ishimura (Stone Village)
The ship it’s self manages to convey much of what has occurred with the crew of the ship (with some help from a few survivors). It manages in conjunction with video and audio diaries of the crew to explain the infestation and religious fanaticism that lead to it– drawing unsubtle parallels with Scientology.
It is often actually the people you interact with that let the story down. Somehow the clichés seem more obvious when they are delivered by ‘living’ NPCs. At no time is this more infuriating than towards the end when you’ve worked out the ‘twist’ but are driven towards choices you don’t want to make.
