Too Human (360)
I’ve finish the four long repetitive levels. Now I am conflicted. Everything the game does well is offset by a miss-step. As you gaze at the majestic arenas with invisible walls fencing you in you can’t help but feel it’s deliberate.
I worry that what I perceive as shortcomings are based on preconception. The character development, moral choices and deep narrative (so often touted by creator, Denis Dyack) maybe planed to open up more though the trilogy. Currently though these aspects feel one-dimensional with mere hints of what was pledged. Add to this an overall lack of polish and your left feeling under whelmed.
The strange thing is I am playing it through again. I like it. The grind, the leveling the loot is fun. Hopefully part two will get the green light so the promise here is fulfilled, and the consequences of choices made in this game are realized.
Depending on your faith in the sequels between £10 and £18.
- Valkyries come to take you away (and then bring you back).
- The combat is much deeper than you may initially think.
- Cut scenes are inconsistent and unpolished.
